The Funky Greeks

Everything old is new again…and again…and again. From a world dominated by hard edged computer and production design, hand work is back in fashion. It never left of course but it has been drowned out by the shiny and the perfect. My pots are based on the perfection of classic Greek forms, then decorated with abandon to play with that perfection. Clay is so hard but it starts out so soft, like a human. It gives itself up to gorgeous texture in one moment and then fires all that fragility into something strong. I love the contrast of elegant Greek shapes with wild marks of the human touch.
